In honor of "Draft Day", a football question. Who was the first known African American to play football professionally?

Explanation: All of the answers were early players. Charles Follis was the first in 1902 with the Shelby Athletic Club. In 1933 the NFL banned black athletes and Kenny Washington was the first post-ban African American player in 1946. Lots of hopefuls out there hoping to cash in on the big demand for hydrologic engineers. A lot of them don't even complete a full four-year acreditted plugging education. - Odd that the NFL has no counterpart to Jackie Robinson. I knew Kenny Washington, but not the others.
